It’s hard to believe, but Christmas is not that far off!  The perfect way to prepare yourself for the Holiday Season is to treat yourself to the elegant and festive CANDLELIT LUNCHEON. The Batesville Area Historical Society (BAHS) is proud to announce their SEVENTH annual Christmas Luncheon, to be held on Wednesday, December 3 at the Hillcrest Country Club. Doors open at 11:00 and luncheon will be served at noon.

Our CANDLELIT LUNCHEON will feature beautifully decorated tables and the meal includes tomato basil soup, a sandwich of baked ham with cranberry sauce on wheat bread, an orange, cranberry, pecan and chicken salad on a bagel, fruit cup, and coffee, iced tea or water. The dessert will be a fabulous Cherries Jubilee with vanilla bean ice cream and a candle shaped cookie on the side. It doesn’t get any better than this! Except that it does: Entertainment will be provided throughout the event. Pat Hicks will gracefully strum her harp during the luncheon and Batesville’s own Ukulele Club will give a cheerful and rousing round of Christmas music.

Jinny Stewart, who is organizing this year’s festivities, promises that “One of the highlights of the afternoon will be the opportunity to bid on some incredible items in our silent auction.   We really have some crowd pleasers and everyone will have the chance to bid on items for themselves or for that special someone on their Christmas list.”

The cost is $25 per person and the event is a benefit to raise funds for the Society’s museum on West George Street. Please contact Jinny Stewart at 933-0267 to reserve your seat or your table of 8. Tickets are also available at Geis Electronics and the BAHS Museum (open Thursdays, 9-3 and Saturday, 9-12).
