ABOUT RIPLEY COUNTY

Located in southeast Indiana, Ripley County is the perfect place to relax or play. Not far from Cincinnati, OH, Indianapolis, IN, and Louisville, KY, it’s a short trip for some great family fun!

We are home to the Versailles State Park where you can fish, explore awesome mountain bike trails, go boating, go kayaking, slide into the swimming pool, camp, go horseback riding, or take a hike.

The park has over 24 miles of mountain bike trails maintained by the Southeast Indiana Mountain Biker Association with events throughout.

The small Indiana basketball team that inspired the movie “Hoosiers” is from Milan, and the history lives on at the Milan ’54 Hoosiers Museum.

We have many festivals throughout the year in our communities–Indiana’s Oldest festival- the Versailles Pumpkin Show, the Batesville Applefest, Ertel Cellars Winery Festival, Hassmer Fest Moutain Bike Festival at Versailles State Park, and more.

Visit our events calendar for more information.

Spend a week or weekend in Friendship at one of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association‘s annual events, reliving a time in the 17-1800s or learn to shoot a muzzleloading rifle, or make a traditional craft.

Plan to re-live memories and find great deals at our antique shops, or find something special at a specialty, gift, or floral shop.

Pack up the car and head to Ripley County and journey down roads less traveled where adventures await you.
