Osgood-IN

Osgood, on US 421, is a town seeing many changes today due to the generous gift of more than $23 million for a foundation given to the town from Gilmore and Golda Reynolds. The past is evident, though, in many of the beautiful homes and buildings including Billie’s Lookin’ Good, which was the John Eckert & Sons Hardware Store, now listed on the Indiana Register of Historic Sites & Structures.

The town is also the home of the Ripley County Fairground, where the 4-H Fair is held each July. Events such as car races and horse activities are also held there through the year.

Osgood has a satellite building of Margaret Mary Community Hospital (Batesville), the Damm Theatre, a library, three banks, restaurants, apartments, and several shops as well as two Bed and Breakfasts. REMC is the largest employer in the town.
